Saturday, April 3rd - All Champions

Below is the full and complete All Champions Competition Rules as posted by Baroness Rosamund on the REEDS earlier this month and appears briefly in The Crier.

Greetings everyone,

Although our focus at this moment is upon our great event Ursulmas, it is
not too soon to begin thinking about Aquaterra's Championship Competition
which will be held as a one day event on April 3 at the Masonic Park in
Granite Falls. HL Tessa Tazzi, the autocrat, will be making further
announcements about all the particulars at a later time, but I am posting
Duties, Requirements, and Rules of Championship today so that those who must
prepare entries will have adequate planning time to do so.

(. AQUATERRA CHAMPIONSHIPS

A. Heavy Weapons Champion
B. Archery Champion
C. Marksmanship Champion (Thrown Weapons)
D. Rapier Champion
E. Arts and Sciences Champion
F. Bardic Arts Champion
G. Gamesmanship Champion
H. Youth Armored Combat Champion (Dragon Division)

II. DUTIES OF A CHAMPION

A. To swear an oath of fealty or service to the Barony
B. To defend the honor and prestige of the Barony and the Kingdom of An Tir, whenever such is challenged.
C. To support the Barony in war and/or enter A&S competition for war points.
D. To attend events including Boars Hunt in June, Warren War in August, Banner War in September, Ursulmas in January and the following year's Championship competition in March or April when the successor will be chosen, unless permission is received from the Coronet not to do so.
E. To stand behind the chairs during Baronial Court at all events.
F. To maintain membership in the Society during the champion's term of service.
G. To speak or act in the Coronets' name when delegated to do so.
H. To actively further the interests of the area of endeavor through teaching the populace of Aquaterra and through performance.
I. To attend the next Baronial Championship, where the successor will be chosen.

III. ELIGIBILITY

A. All entrants must be paid members of SCA, Inc.
B. All entrants must be at least 18 years of age except Youth Armored Combat Champion who will be determined from the Dragon Division.
C. All entrants, including those for the martial arts, must submit a written Notice of Intention to enter the Aquaterra Championship competitions accompanied by a photocopy of membership card.
D. The Notice of Intention is due by March 28, 2010 except for A&S and Bardic who must make themselves known earlier.
E. The Notice must include which championship is sought, modern and SCA names, and complete contact information (email and phone)
F. If entering for A&S or Bardic Championships, a description of entries planned for competitions must be included on the Notice of Intention which must be received by March 13 to assure that relevant judges may be obtained

G. The Notice must be submitted to the Baron and Baroness, the Seneschal, and the officer who is administering the competition
H. "In writing" can be either by snail mail, e-mail, or by personally handing the document to the recipients. Email for the Baron is foxwlm2 at comcast.net and for the Baroness is ravenstream at comcast.net
I. Entrants must have read, understood and agreed to abide by the Duties of a Baronial Champion.
J. Entrants must assume responsibility for reading the rules of the specific Championship contest desired and complying with all parts of those rules.

ABSOLUTELY NO PETITIONS WILL BE RECEIVED BY THE CORONETS ON THE DAY OF THE COMPETITIONS. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN COMPETING, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS LISTED ABOVE.
